Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2026
These Terms of Service set out the terms on which Snowbirds Auto Connection Ltd. (“SAC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides vehicle transport services and quotes. SAC is a family-owned, company-owned and operated vehicle transport carrier based in Concord, Ontario, serving Canadian drivers since 1993. Please read these terms carefully — they explain how our quotes, bookings, payments, scheduling, and shipments work.
Acceptance of these terms
By using our website, requesting a quote, or booking a shipment with SAC, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with them, please do not use our website or services. We may update these terms from time to time; the “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most current version. The terms in force on the day you book apply to your shipment.
Our service
SAC provides vehicle transport across Canada and cross-border between Canada and the United States as a company-owned and operated carrier — we own our trucks and employ our drivers. Every long-haul mile is on an SAC truck with an SAC driver. When a full-size carrier can’t reach your door, or your address is somewhere we don’t run every week, the last leg goes to a flatbed operator or carrier we have worked with for years — chosen by us, accountable to us, never posted to a load board. Our standard service is open car carrier transport. Enclosed transport is available on a limited basis, at a higher cost, and on request.
Door-to-door service is our standard: we collect at your address and deliver to your destination address. On the scheduled Florida runs, published Toronto-area rates are from our Vaughan yard to your Florida address; Greater Toronto Area door collection or delivery is available for $150 each way with a week’s notice, or you can bring the vehicle to our yard on the departure Friday during receiving hours and keep the $150. Ottawa and Kingston collection is included in those published rates. Québec collection is included in your quoted rate. In Florida, delivery to your door by flatbed from the nearest of our four partner terminals is standard; collecting at the terminal yourself saves $50.
Quotes and pricing
Quotes are free, and we aim to provide them within one business day. The quote we confirm in writing is the price you pay. Published rates are in Canadian dollars, per direction, and apply to the snowbird-season scheduled Florida runs; every other move is quoted individually. Published rates include our standing fuel surcharge (20% for the 2026/27 season), which moves only when diesel does. If that surcharge has to change after you book, we will tell you in advance, and you may cancel at no charge.
Booking and payment
No deposit is required to reserve your transport. Payment is due in full before pickup, or at drop-off when you bring the vehicle to our yard.
- No fee: e-transfer, debit, cash, and cheque.
- Credit cards: accepted with a 3% handling fee.
Rates assume an accurate description of the vehicle and its contents. Undeclared modifications, oversize tires, or excess weight are subject to the $400 fee described under Personal belongings.
Scheduling and delivery windows
Our Florida runs follow a fixed weekly schedule during the snowbird season: southbound departures leave our Vaughan, Ontario yard on Fridays from September 18, 2026, and northbound departures leave Florida on Tuesdays. A few holiday weeks load on the Thursday instead; the exceptions for the season are confirmed in your booking. Transit is counted from the day the truck leaves; typical transit is up to one week, and up to 10 days during peak periods (the busiest weeks of the fall season southbound; the last week of March and the Passover–Easter period northbound).
All other lanes run on availability, with the departure window and transit time confirmed at the time of booking. From mid-September through the winter our trucks are committed to the Florida runs, so please allow extra lead time on other routes. All delivery windows are estimates, not guaranteed dates.
Cancellations and changes
A $400 cancellation fee applies if you cancel within 5 days of the scheduled departure. Changes to a booking are subject to availability and may affect pricing. If we cannot move your vehicle in the window we confirmed, you may cancel at no charge.
Cross-border shipments and customs
For cross-border shipments, SAC arranges customs clearance through licensed and bonded customs brokers on both sides of the border. A $100 customs brokerage fee applies to every Canadian-plated vehicle entering Canada from the United States and is shown in your quote. US-plated vehicles entering Canada clear at the Canada Customs Bond Shed in Mississauga instead and carry a further $200 for the broker’s paperwork. No brokerage fee applies southbound.
You are responsible for providing accurate documents before departure: vehicle registration, proof of insurance, and, for a financed or leased vehicle, a letter from the lender or lessor permitting the vehicle to leave Canada for up to six months. Vehicles that cannot clear customs because documents are missing or inaccurate may be delayed or returned at your cost.
Preparing your vehicle
Please deliver the vehicle with no more than a quarter tank of fuel, in running condition with a working battery and no leaks, and with alarms disabled. Tell us in advance about any modification, lift, low clearance, or oversize tires, as these affect loading and may affect price. Non-running vehicles can be moved by prior arrangement — tell us before we quote — but not during peak season; call to confirm before booking.
Personal belongings
On the Florida runs you may pack personal items in the trunk only, up to 100 lbs, plus one set of golf clubs on the floor of the back seat. Items must not be visible from outside the vehicle, and the passenger compartment must otherwise be empty. Belongings totalling more than 100 lbs carry a $400 fee, and a vehicle packed beyond these limits may be refused at loading. Personal belongings are not covered by our cargo insurance and travel at your own risk; remove all valuables before transport. Anything left in the vehicle must be listed on the customs paperwork before it travels; undeclared goods delay the inspection for every vehicle on the truck. Customs may inspect the vehicle and its contents at the border.
Vehicle condition, inspection, and claims
A written inspection report with photographs documents your vehicle’s condition at pickup and again at delivery. It is a professional assessment of the vehicle’s condition conducted under real-world conditions, and it is the record both of us rely on if there is a claim.
Please inspect your vehicle before signing the delivery receipt and note any concern on the receipt before you sign. To make a claim, report the damage to us within 24 hours of delivery, with photographs and a copy of the signed delivery receipt. Repairs must be approved by us before any work begins; we will not reimburse repairs carried out without our approval. If you have a question about the process at any point, call us on 416-638-0001.
The following are not covered: stone chips, road-debris marks, road dust, pre-existing damage noted on the inspection report, mechanical or electrical faults not caused by transport, damage caused by leaks or fluids from the vehicle, and personal belongings.
Insurance
SAC carries $5 million in liability coverage and $1 million in cargo coverage. Your vehicle is covered while in our care up to its actual cash value, subject to the exclusions above. We recommend keeping your own auto insurance active during transit, and it may be required for entry into the United States.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SAC’s liability in connection with our services is limited to the coverage described above. SAC is not liable for delays or losses caused by weather, road closures, border processing, customs decisions, mechanical breakdown, or other events beyond our reasonable control, nor for indirect or consequential losses such as rental cars, missed flights, or lost time. Delivery windows are estimates, and we do not guarantee specific delivery dates.
Governing law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, unless the law of your province gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
